The Richmond Writers Coalition is a collection of writers group leaders whose mission is to help Richmond area writers find the writing group that is best for them. Through our mutual interaction and sharing of ideas, we improve our own meetings and inform others about where to find the best writers group for themselves.

Tidewater Writers is dedicated to supporting and nurturing writers (we include writers of fiction, non-fiction poetry, plays, and essays). We are a friendly and rather laid back group that focuses on providing helpful critiques and general knowledge about the publishing process. Our typical meeting includes 4-10 of the regulars and a similar number of new people and/or the irregulars who come when they can.

The aim is to provide a core group which will develop an overall plan to encourage and support Authors, Writers and Poets. As part of the groups mission it will meet with members and invite others to come and be involved. It is my desire to have the group meet in a comfortabe relaxed yet stimulating environment.
